Reuniting lost and found pets with their humans

Going away on holidays?

Please take action to make sure your animal(s) are well cared for if you are not taking them with you. There are kennels, catteries, professional pet sitters etc.

Ensure your pet has some ID on him (tag with phone number and/or microchip) and is registered (cats and dogs). Make sure the microchip company has your latest contact details.

Many animals fret when their owners are away and end up roaming/getting lost. Sometimes these animals get euthanased before their owner gets home if a responsible person has not been chosen to care for the animal and to look for her if she wanders off. Councils and shelters will only guarantee keeping an animal for 4 working days before euthanasia is considered. Shelters and pounds are crammed to capacity at this time of year so options for keeping stray animals are very limited.

Get a picture of your animal before you go away so if he does get lost you or your pet sitter can create a lost poster. Pictures are invaluable

Have a great Christmas and thank you for using telaf  :-)

Forever Home Needed – Cat – White (Sapphire)

SapphireSapphire was originally an RSPCA kitten.  She and her 4 brothers and sisters were dumped at Holmes Jungle around 3 years ago.  Fortunately Sapphire and one of her sisters, Silver, were rescued by a caring person who witnessed the dumping and brought the kittens to the RSPCA.  Both girls found a home together but Silver became quite ill and died.  2 years later, Sapphire was no long wanted as a baby was on the way.  She was taken in to another home otherwise she would have been handed into an animal welfare centre.  Her new owner has discovered that she is partially blind.  This makes her even sweeter but unfortunately she is stressing with the other cats around particularly because she can’t see them clearly.

Heartbreaking as it is, we need to find Sapphire her perfect home and this is one where she is the only cat in the home.  We are prepared to work with the new owners as she is a special needs cat but one who will reward you with sweetness and smooches.

Please call 0418 527 416 if you would like to meet Sapphire.
