Forever Home Needed – Oscar

Oscar self-rescued himself from a life of misery when he wandered up the road and made his home with neighbours in an outer metro region of Darwin.  He had been kept in a concrete shed and had developed callouses on his bum, had a raw growth on his foot and was generally in very poor condition.

Rowan and Leanne have done an amazing job of bringing him back to good health.

“His Labrador blood line certainly shows and he enjoys a good wallow in the shallows, having salty water splashed on him and even briefly ventured in deep enough for a swim yesterday.  He has also done a road trip to Daly River with me for one week and went on holiday with us for a weekend at the Butterfly Resort in Bachelor (a great dog friendly place…highly recommended for a peaceful weekend)

We’ve been feeding him up, shampooing, aqua bathing and brushing him down and making him jog which has built up his muscles so he is looking well groomed and  is in as good a health as he can be –  all things considered.

Sweetly sad for us but happily for him we are now at the point where he we need to rehouse him permanently. Although not complicated there will be a need to continue his medications probably for the rest of his time. As stated before we are more than happy to contribute to any of these not overly expensive ongoing medical costs and let’s face it, at his estimated age of a grand ole 15!!!  he probably doesn’t have that much time left.

We am hoping that those few of you who thought they might be able to take him on or know someone who may do so will still consider it and you can give me a call at any time.”

Lost – Dog – Kelpie/GS X (Pogo)

Still missing – 27/4/12 My mobile phone keeps turing off and I keep having missed calls from a private number, who wont leave a message. Please if its about Sir Pogo please leave a message. He’s still misisng 😦 Wendy

My dog is missing, here are the details:  Name: Pogo  Breed: Kelpie x German Shepherd  Colour: black with Tan legs, belly and eyebrows  Sex: Desexed Male  Age: approx 7  Distinctive features: Red collar and tan flea collar, occasionally walks with a limp with his Right back leg held in the air.  Last seen: Saturday 7 April at 4pm, called our 3 dogs in at 6:30 and he didn’t come. Darwin River Road, Darwin River. Additional: We are quite concerned for him as its very unusual for him to not to return if he wanders. He is a very loyal companion/ guard dog and sees himself as protector of me, my daughter and 2 puppies. He knows the area and would not choose to stay away from home. If he’s gotten caught somewhere he shouldn’t have (like someones chicken pen or riled up other dogs on their block) we understand, we’d just like to know.

Contact: Wendy 0400 164 734 or Ben 0488 037 277

I’ll put up a notice at the Litchfield shops, Livingstone reserve, Berry Springs servo and Coolalinga Shops.
