Lost – Bird – RAinbow Lorikeet (Jazz)

Rainbow lorikeet – lage size with a yellowish/greenish collar and no red in it. Jazz is a cross-breed red collar loriketet but has a yellow/greenish collar.
Gender unknown  and No identification collar or tags
Approx age is 4 years
Jazz was lost from Humpty Doo on December 2005 where I was dropping the bird off to be minded and the large bird cage fell apart a I took it out if the car.  Jazz was often minded here for me. Jazz flew into up into a tree nearby, and then hopped back onto my finger when I called. When I tried to coax my bird back into the cage Jazz  then chose to fly off to another tree much further away. Jazz returned to the site where lost that same night at sun-down, but would not come down from the tree when called  by the minders, who advised they saw Jazz fly off with the wild lorikeets and they never saw Jazz again.
Friendly bird.Talks and says: “Jazz”, “Yum Yum”, “That’s not nice”!Can be aggressive at times and bites when frustrated and wanting to get out of cage.>Loves the freedom to fly outside of cage.

    • Dear Carol,
No I never did find Jazz, and I remain ever hopeful that she may have found a new loving home or has found a mate in the wild and is enjoying her freedom.
      I will call you soon
