My bird was said to be lost from his locked cage at the Bird Minders place at 34 Henbury Avenue, Tiwi. Where I left my bird to be minded for a week and they said they lost my bird on the Tuesday
Date said to be lost: 23rd November 2004 ~ I was notified on the 25th November by phone to advise my bird was lost
Very friendly, tame and clever. Very accustomed to travelling in vehicles for long distances. Talkative bird. Good vocabulary including can say name Yum Yum;
Other words and sentences include: – Who’s That?; Beautiful Creature; I Love You; Yum Yum mmm…
Loves to admire self in the mirror and chats to self. Easily spooked by Eagles and birds prey. Has an aversion to sink water – ie when you wash the dishes, becomes aggitated and tries to stop you washing dishes.
Likes to burrow in under clothing to snuggle and go to sleep.
Likes to perch on your toes when your legs are crossed over at the knees in the sitting position.
My little bird was like a soul-mate to me and was very attached to me. My bird travelled everywhere with me, all over the Northern Territory, including to the very remote communities. My bird even came out to dinner with me at my friends places, where my bird quietly sat on my knee. My bird preferred to sleep snuggled on my chest at night. I advertised extensively in the newspapers, on the TV, on the radio, in billboard notices pasted in carparks and community notice boards. I also contacted all the vets in Darwin and the RSPCA.
I am hoping my bird is still out there somewhere.

Forever Home Needed – Cat – Tom
Tom has had an eventful life. He was brought into the RSPCA as a young cat, proving to be a Houdine, he escaped from the cattery a couple of times and became a RSPCA ‘resident’ along with another 2 cats – Nike and a little stray who was proving elusive to catch. Tom seemed happy enough until something or someone came in during the night and horribly killed Nike and the little stray. Tom was clearly traumatised and became a reclusive at this point. It was decided that fostering was needed and so Tom is now regaining his old confident and charming self in foster care. Unfortunately the foster carer can’t keep Tom so its time for him to go to a home where he will be cared for for the rest of his days. Tom currently shares his foster home with 2 kittens to whom he provides paternal guidance. Tom is terrified of dogs so it is essential that he does not share his life with a dog.
If you think you could give Tom his forever home please ring Kay on 0418 527416
